Margaret's best Christmas. Margaret sat at the window sill as she watched Mike, her husband drive out of the garage downstairs. A tear dropped down her eye and she curled her lips to begin silent crying. Today was Christmas. It was supposed to be a day of happiness and laughter in gratitude to the birth of Jesus Christ. But Mike, who had suddenly become a jerk and a pain in the neck some weeks back was not making it possible for her to feel even the slightest spark of happiness or love. "Jesus, some years ago, about this time, you came to die for me so that I can be free from sin and so I won't have to die and go to hell. I'm happy you did that, Lord, I'm really very grateful. But why am I not feeling happy today? Mike is such a jerk and it's hell to be around him. How can I be happy?" She listened in the silence. "Love." Margaret thought she had not heard right. "The only way to be happy is to love him." She chuckl...

Apart forever. Episode 2. "This is my house, Rhoda." She said innocently, painfully reminding me of an angel. "No. This is... This is a prison. A prison that has housed you long enough to tear our love apart and destroy the bond that used to be between us." She looked confused. "Rhoda, you want us to go on a vacation or visit our parents?" "No!" I shouted. "I don't care about those idiots! They're the reason I'm here today, to take us home." Rebecca looked alarmed. "Rhoda!" "I've come to put an end to this pain and confusion. To bring everything back to what it once was." She stood up, abruptly, as if sensing danger. Slowly, I reached for my gun and pointed it at her.  Her eyes flew wide open. "Rhoda, what are you doing?!" "Why Becky?" I said, my eyes glistening with tears." "Why what?" She said with her hands held up in helpless surrende...

Apart forever. People were  once angels before they came to the world . As I wore my coat, I remembered mummy's words. They lived happily with God and without worries . I wore my watch. Everyone was everyone's friends. There was no partiality. I fastened my belt. They walked streets of gold with God by their sides. I slipped my feet in my shoes and did the laces. Their smiles and laughter were genuine. I slung my bag over my shoulder. There was no pain in their hearts. They were very light. Finished dressing, I paused and looked into the mirror. I had perfectly made up my face to look exactly like her... for the last time. "It's time to go home, Becky." I whispered to the mirror. "And we're going together." As I stepped out into the rain, a chill ran down my spine. It was cold. But what was colder, was the gun, underneath my clothing, at my side that pressed to my naked skin. "I don't care if you're ...

WHEN GIANTS FALL; WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR PRAYER WARRIOR. Final Episode.🎉🔥✨🎊🎉 "It all started some weeks ago." Bro. Charles started. We were back at the library and I only considered it the grace of God that he decided to talk to me. "I was getting distracted and I knew it. The Holy Spirit flashed warning signals continually, but I kept postponing my meetings with God at the chapel and the amount of time I spent in my quiet time began to decline." "What was distracting you from God?" I asked. "A lot of things. My school work, roommates, church meetings, so many things. Those distractions had always been there, but this time, I wasn't wise in handling them." He paused and shook his head. "I started withdrawing from my prayer partner. I always had a good excuse to shift our prayer days. Then church meetings began to feel long. I would spend hours in the library trying to keep the first class CGPA that I was on, but I began t...

WHEN GIANTS FALL; WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR PRAYER WARRIOR. Penultimate Episode. Maybe it was because I no longer saw him during our fellowship weekly meetings or that he no longer came to the chapel like he used to or that a  new prayer warrior had been appointed for the fellowship, that I realized that something was seriously wrong. The other executives in the fellowship were mute about whatever was happening to Bro Charles and after thinking about it for a while, I figured it was probably the best thing to do. But it didn't stop me from wondering exactly what happened to Bro Charles. Were his grades dropping? Was he sick? Could it be that things were not alright at the home front? What could make a prayer warrior who carried the Presence of God, go almost extinct from the fellowship? Was I worried? Definitely. But I wasn't the only one. After fellowship meetings, I would overhear conversations about Bro Charles and his disappearance, and it always increased the burden...

WHEN GIANTS FALL; WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR PRAYER WARRIOR. Episode 3. He was at the chapel again. I had stalked him there. As he walked towards the altar, I followed behind quietly, inching close enough to hear and see him but not enough for him to detect any movement. He dropped to his knees, bowed his head and folded his arms across his chest. I couldn't see his face, so I stared at his back. "Oh Lord," he began. "Make use of me. Make me the Paul of my generation, Lord. Fill me afresh with your Spirit. Pour your oil on my altar and cause me to burn so hot for you..." As he prayed, I felt the intensity of his prayers. The atmosphere was changing. His words became less pronounced and shifted gears to deep, sorrowful groans. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead and his body shook as if under a burden. "One thing I ask Lord," he prayed in between gnashed teeth. "Make me a walking piece of heaven. Let sinners, people who don't know yo...

WHEN GIANTS FALL; WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR PRAYER WARRIOR. Episode 2 ...Continued from episode 1 ... I was scared. But I was determined to know more about this guy. Who in their right senses could ignore a girl like me and still get away with making me guilty. I had thought I was done with guilt. I killed guilt the moment I stepped on campus. Sure, my conscience was there but, it was as good as dead. I had made sure of that. So how dare this young man bring life to what I already killed? How dare he? He wasn't a fresher. No, he didn't have the look that they all did. He didn't look a sophomore either. So he was either penultimate or in his final year. I couldn't sleep that night. I kept thinking about him. Something extraordinary was at work and I knew but I couldn't place a finger on it. How could someone who didn't notice me leave such an indelible mark on me? I vowed to find him. I didn't have to talk to him. I just wanted to see him ag...
