This Scarlet Thread

Feyi's heart pounded in her chest. Her nervous eyes darted from one end of the prison to another, seeking an escape route. Darkness as thick as black stared her in the face. Blood curling screams of the numerous babies she had aborted roared in her ears and she wanted to slam her hands against them to stop the deafening noise, but two solid chains dragged her hands back down to the floor.

She twisted her hands in the cuff, trying to wrench them free, as tears of regret poured from her eyes. But they wouldn't give. The chains, though old, where still very strong and she began to feel the familiar sting of her flesh cutting, as blood seeped out of her wrists.

Her stomach grumbled ferociously, threatening to tear to shreds if she didn't eat. Every night, a grotesque looking hand would slide a tray of lies under the prison door. She ate the Devil's lies for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She had no choice. If she didn't eat them, she would starve to death. They were lies of how she was the worst person who ever lived. Lies of how no one could ever love her enough to save her. Lies of how she was better dead than alive...they were lies that filled her stomach but drained her soul.

"I'm sorry," she whimpered in pain. "Jesus, I don't know who you are, but they say you can save the worst of sinners...Well, here I am. I'm so filthy, so bad, so lost. Can you save me, please?"

Suddenly, she heard a sound that made her jump. Someone was opening her prison door in such a violent manner. Twenty seconds later, a Creature who looked half human and half beast stood before her, bearing a whip that had scorpion's tails all over it.

"Don't you dare mention that Name in here, again!" He fumed. "You're a sinner. You are wicked, callous, dirty. You can never be forgiven, because you've done it over and over again." He raised his whip, but Feyi didn't see it coming. It's sharp scorpion's tails wrapped itself around her body and tore into her flesh.

"Pleeeeeaaasssee!" Feyi whimpered, tears pouring from her eyes. "Please let me go."

"No! You belong here all the days of your life till you die. You are never coming out of here. If I hear you mention that name again, I'll kill you." He said, whipped her one more time and stormed out the way he came.

Feyi heard the keys locking the door again and in that instant she knew she would rather die than continue in this hell of a cell.

"JESUS!" She screamed for all she was worth. "Forgive meeeee! I'm trapped in this cell and I can't get myself out. Save me. Please."

In a flash, it seemed as if the roof of her prison flew away. Light brighter than what she had ever seen flooded her cell. She dodged her face from it's intensity, wondering what was happening.

Then she saw something. Slowly, a scarlet thread descended from the Light like a rope. It stopped when it got to her breast level.

She needed no one to tell her to take the rope. But as she reched for it, her chains held her back.

"You have to believe, Feyi." A voice said. It was different from the voice she was used to, but the tender love it exuded convinced her that JESUS had indeed come to save her.

She looked at her chains. "Jesus can save me." She whispered.

The chain on her left hand fell off.

"Jesus can save me." She said, again. More enthusiastically now.

The second chain fell off.

"Jesus will save me." She said again, her heart rate accelerating with excitement.

The chain that tied her feet together broke in pieces. She smiled, the first time in many years, but her deliverance would not be that easy.

She heard the Beast coming for her. The sickening sound of the prison door made her want to go back to the floor and tie those chains back.

"YOU!" The Beast growled and Feyi felt warm liquid between her thighs. " Get over here!" He ordered.

Feyi was going to obey, when she saw The Scarlet Thread again. It was dripping Blood. But it wasn't her blood.

Confusion wrapped around her until she heard a voice again. "That's the weapon Feyi. MY BLOOD."

She didn't know where the boldness came from but she whispered, "The Blood of Jesus."

An invisible force dragged the Beast from where he was and flung him painfully to the steel walls of her prison.

"The Blood of Jesus." Feyi said again, more confidently.

The Beast jammed his hands to his ears, wincing in pain. "Stop it! Stop it now!" He screamed

"The Blood of Jesus." Feyi said again and grabbed the scarlet thread, that was still dripping Blood.

"The Blood of Jesus has come to save me. The Blood of Jesus saves. The Blood of Jesus saves."

And as she chanted it like a song, while still holding on to the Scarlet thread, she felt her feet leave the ground. She looked down and saw the Beast cowering painfully and shamefully in the corner. She saw her chains lying in pieces on the floor, she saw the bowl of lies, sitting wasted beside her chains...

The more Feyi looked, the more distant her prison became. She didn't know where the Scarlet Thread was taking her to. But she was confident of this one thing: The Scarlet Thread had saved her. From her past, from her sin and from Satan.
